Clare U15s Win 1-0 against Galway United U15 Development Squad

Friday 27th December saw a great workout and an opportunity to impress for the Clare U15 players against Galway United’s U15 development squad.

A single second half goal by Clare’s David O’Donnell was all that separated the sides in an entertaining game. David, a creative passing midfielder, received the ball on the edge of the penalty area turned and curled a superb finish to the bottom right corner.

There was plenty of other goalmouth action at both ends but after a slightly slow start and a very physical one from Galway that saw several bookings the Clare boys more than held their own throughout and arguable had the better chances. The best chance of the game falling to William Bello just as he came on the pitch, missing from inside 6 yards with the goal at his mercy. William did go on to play excellently so we won’t hold it against him. 😂👍

To a man the performances were really excellent, with players rotating and playing positions they don’t regularly play, with aplomb. Particular mention for Kuba Ruminowicz for some genuinely top class saves and an all round excellent performance.

Well done to the boys and this should serve as excellent preparation for their Munster Plate Semi final in January.
