Sunday October 10th saw the first instalment of our cup finals with a wonderful days football provided by the U12 girls of Shannon Town, Corofin Harps, St Pats and Tulla Utd and the U13 girls of Connolly Celtic and Fern Celtic.
The Shield final between Shannon Town and St Pats led out the day with a late second half goal proving the difference between the teams and giving Shannon Town the trophy following a very entertaining game.
The U12 Cup final was an equally tense affair with Corofin going up one nil and holding out well for the win copperfastened by one particularly outstanding save from their goalkeeper.
The final match between Connolly and Fern saw the match end up with a 5-2 win for Connolly Celtic despite going one nil down in a helter skelter first half.
Girls soccer is really taking off in Clare and a tremendous days football really underlined this point. Well done to all our ladies!
